Tutorial 01 - Basic Scene

Download

In this tutorial we will start from scratch to create a basic scene complete with four objects, one camera, and two lights. Then we will create a simple texture and use existing shaders to create materials for these objects. Eventually we will assign these materials to the objects and render the complete scene. This tutorial also covers basic scene setup, basic operations, and introduces fundamental "4D Blue" tools.

Tutorial 02 - Curves and Curve Based Object Creation

Download

This tutorial presumes that you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial, we will start from the scratch. Using curves, we will create some interesting objects. It will show you how to create new curves, manipulate them, and then how to use one or more of them to create new surfaces.

Tutorial 03 - Lights

Download

This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial we will start from an existing simple scene and by using various lights and adjusting their parameters see how a very different lighting situations can be created with "4D Blue". Please be aware that lights are still being constantly updated and in the future they are likely to change and be optimized.

Tutorial 04 - Global Illumination and Caustics

Download

This tutorial assumes that you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial we will start from existing simple scenes and set them up for global illumination rendering. We will start with simple caustics, move to a complete GI simulation in a simple box scene, and eventually set up and render fairly complex swimming pool scene.

Tutorial 05 - Subsurface Scattering

Download

This tutorial assumes that you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial we will start from existing simple scenes and set them up for subsurface scattering rendering. The subsurface scattering feature is still under development; the shaders and its functions might change in the future.

Tutorial 06 - Glow and LightFX

Download

This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial we will start from an existing simple scene. We will make adjustment, then set it up to accommodate and render Glow and LightFX effects.

Tutorial 07 - Animation

Download

This tutorial assumes that you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions, especially that you know how to move, adjust and rename objects. In this tutorial we will start from an existing simple scene and add a simple bouncing ball animation. This tutorial also covers how to key frames, auto-key parameters, and then adjust existing animation curves.

Tutorial 8 - Introduction to Polygonal Surface Editor

Download

This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of "4D Blue" functions. It is an intruction to polygonal surface editor and explains the way it works and how it should be used. In a broad overview it covers the editor functions and options.

Tutorial 9 - Polygonal Surface Editor Examples

Download

This tutorial assumes you have a good understaning of Polygonal Surface Editor after completing Tutorial 8. It this tutorial three different examples demonstarting the use of the editor will be presented. By creating a simple lamp, a mirrored object, and a simple airplane a good onderstaing of the editor should be acquired.
